"Worklessness is costing us a fortune" says Labour MP for Sunderland Julie Elliott on her website http://julie4sunderland.co.uk/a-new-vision-for-social-security.
"Sixteen per cent of care workers born overseas" says Omar Khan (Head of Policy Research at the Runnymede Trust thinktank).
Perhaps the government should ban publicly-owned organisations such as the NHS and local care services from importing labour from overseas and require them to recruit, train and employ people from the unemployment register - that would help reduce the "fortune" Julie Elliott is so concerned about.
