Perhaps he thinks he will just do a deal with a few men in London

Alex Salmond was interviewed on the Today programme this morning, verbose and repetitive.

He did not answer the question whether the population in the rest of the United Kingdom should have any say in whatever settlement is made with the population in Scotland following independence or maximum devolution.

Perhaps he thinks he will just do a deal with a few men in London and whatever they decide will be imposed on the rest of us with no further discussion.

He needs to have that misconception corrected.

We in England will not have a settlement imposed without discussion.

Nor will we have Alex Salmond telling us what is in our "best interest".

We will decide those things for ourselves.
