In A Passage to India the Collector asks Dr Fielding (sarcastically) “Fielding, how does one see the real India?"
"Try seeing Indians" is the reply.
For the Parliamentary Labour Party to understand England it needs to listen to its English MPs.
Unfortunately there are not that many of them.
Even John Prescott (former MP for Hull) came out yesterday (on Sunday Politics) as Welsh.
How many of the Shadow Cabinet are from an English background? (rather than Scottish, Irish, Welsh or British Migrant backgrounds).
And before you all start screaming "racist" it was LABOUR that decided devolution would be on the basis of historic ethnic cultures in Wales and Scotland - if they are so keen on chopping people up into "regions" they should have cut Scotland up into regions.
