Very interested on ONS report today that there are now 4.2 million self-employed in the United Kingdom, 60% of whom have started since 2011.
Assuming two thirds go out of business within three years, that leaves 1.4 million likely to succeed (some will stagnate, but on the whole in business you do not stand still - you either go forward or go back).
If we assume that these 1.4 million are going to employ staff as they scale up, that is quite a job-creation scheme.
