We have become so used to evasiveness, manipulative double-talk and downright lies that this statement by William Hague (repeated by Times political correspondent Michael Savage) is astonishing in its straightforward honesty.
William Hague is saying: trust the people.
This is a wonderful thing for a politician to say.
