Tony Blair appeared at the Leveson inquiry yesterday, provoking caustic comments in today's newspapers (and bilious invective on yesterday's social media).
The Labour Party in general and "the left" in particular seem keen to distance themselves from Tony Blair, forgetting that he was their creation and they must take ownership for everything he did.
How can the current Labour party disown Tony Blair and pretend he was nothing to do with them?
You often find Labour party members now referring to Tony Blair as a "tory".
This is itself a Tony Blair trick - he used to call the hard-line communists in Yeltsin's Russia "conservatives".
I hardly need to point out that Russian communists are not "conservatives" in the normal way we understand the word, nor can Tony Blair possibly be called a "tory" - except in an attempt by the left to deliberately obscure things and evade responsibility.
And when Tony Blair was in power the very people at the time urging us to vote Labour are the ones who are now pretending they were never really Blairites.
