A near-perfect essay


















The newspaper article I most enjoyed this weekend was Sarah Churchwell's piece on Scott Fitzgerald in yesterday's Guardian.













In a near-perfect essay the only flaw I could find was the use of the word "probably" in parenthesis in a paragraph discussing a Vanity Fair article.

But that is a tiny detail in an important article that I intend to keep (I file articles like this in the books they are relevant to, so I will fold this page up and tuck it into my copy of The Great Gatzby).
