Edward Hopper

Recently read this book on the paintings of Edward Hopper.

I've had the book for ages - no idea why I bought it (probably it was discounted).

Edward Hopper had an ability to capture one of the essential truths about life - ultimately we are all on our own.

Hopper said:  "The self-conscious internationalists, no less than the self-conscious nationalists, generally achieve nothing but sterility".

A bleak but beautiful vision of the world.
