"Luton NUT" https://twitter.com/LutonNUT seems to think that only educational experts should write about education.
This would be very convenient for teachers, as then they would be able to avoid scrutiny.
However Luton NUT overlooks the inconvenient fact that state education is paid for by taxpayers, and therefore all taxpayers have a perfect right to comment as much as they want (and more than just comment - they have a right to insist that bad schools are closed and bad teachers are sacked).
As it happens, I have first hand experience of education in Luton having attended Icknield High School between the ages of 12 and 16, leaving that comprehensive with NO qualifications of any value and having the daunting prospect of starting my education over again in the evenings while I worked at dead end jobs during the day.
So perhaps a little more humility from Luton NUT would be welcome.
