You go too far Herr Krichbaum

Is this headline for real?

Did a senior German really talk so casually about appeasement?

Perhaps Gunther Krichbaum is not aware of the loaded significance of the word?

Particularly where Germans are concerned.

To accuse a British government of appeasement is highly provocative.

And if David Cameron is Neville Chamberlain that makes, presumably, Nigel Farage Adolf Hitler.

You go too far Herr Krichbaum.

It is not for you to make these judgements.

Your country and your countrymen and women behaved so badly in the period 1933 to 1945 that you have lost forever any right to judge others.

Are you really saying that Nigel Farage and his UKIP supporters are depraved monsters who wish to abandon any pretence of democracy, to attack innocent neighbouring countries, to enslave whole populations, to carry out campaigns of extermination against ethnic groups, to inflict hideous medical experiments on children while they are still conscious, to herd village populations into churches and then burn them alive, to carry out so many other depraved crimes that it is not possible to list them all.

Are you really making that comparison Herr Krichbaum?
