A frisson of unconscious racism in Hugh Muir's column about Bruce Springsteen

Do I detect a frisson of unconscious racism in Hugh Muir's column about Bruce Springsteen today:  http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/apr/06/bruce-springsteen-trevor-phillips-cluster-ghetto

Probably to BME people all whitey folks look the same, but surely Mr Muir cannot have avoided noticing that Bruce Springsteen is an American.

His music, and the culture he refers to through that music, is American not English.

Therefore the argument that whitey folks are "clustering" around other whitey folks because they are white entirely falls down.

Those English people going to a Bruce Springsteen concert are sampling another culture, not clustering around their own.

You are an idiot Mr Muir.
