A rambling and incoherent blogpost from Alastair Campbell about the significance of the lack of retail outlets at a major French airport:

He tries (unsuccessfully) to do some shopping, he reads a magazine, he reminds us of his former importance (prefixing it with a mock self-depreciating "allegedly").
None of this would matter except that Mr Campbell concludes his little essay with sweeping assumptions about world political and economic trends.
Is this how policy was developed in the Blair years? In the bored intervals between consuming things and bigging themselves up the former masters of New Labour read a magazine, chucked down a few thoughts and presented the result as a fully finished weltanschauung to be taken seriously by a slavishly cowed media. No wonder Labour activists today distance themselves as much as possible from that time and those people.
How are the mighty fallen.
