"thank you"

Several days after the Conference the Council organised a "thank you" dinner at a London restaurant for people from the Council and employees from the Institute who had done all the organising.

Vijay Singh was not at this dinner, Alec Nussbaum was (in his new role as Director).  Obviously being in public there were no speeches.  Huge steak I could hardly eat it.

Everyone seemed very positive, unreasonably so.  One of the refreshing things about the Council is that they plan for twenty or thirty years ahead, and not even the Institute gets to see the whole picture.  The Council cultivates the image of being moribund but this is very far from the case.
