Good Friday

I didn't plan it this way, but the library book (collected yesterday) I am reading on Good Friday is Caiaphas by Adele Reinhartz.

At the 2 o'clock service this afternoon the priests prostrated themselves on the floor, only the male choir sang, the Passion was read out.

The great cross was brought in for veneration, no wine with Communion, everyone left in silence.

His dying crimson, like a robe,
Spreads o’er His body on the tree;
Then I am dead to all the globe,
And all the globe is dead to me.
