And I suppose if they really hate us there is nothing we can do about it.
Except to point out that hatred is an entirely negative emotion. When hatred is gone nothing remains of it. Only love (and in this case the love of Scottish Tories for the old civilised unionist Scotland of the pre-SNP past) endures.
"But even if the world's beauty and love are on the edge of destruction, theirs is still the only side to be on. Hate's victory does not make it other than what it is. Defeated love is still love."
