Each in his narrow cell forever laid, the rude forefathers of the hamlet sleep
I looked at this row of eighteenth-century graves and thought of Thomas Hardy: "Each in his narrow cell forever laid, the rude forefathers of the hamlet sleep".
Barbara Pym felt she spent too much time looking round old graveyards (but she couldn't help herself).
James Ralph P, quoting a saying of his parents, said we will spend enough time in the cemetary as it is, without making special advance journeys.
