Another train journey

Posted by Hello

Is it unethical to publish candid shots of people without their permission? I can always take it down if anyone protests…

I thought this chap was interesting because of the rapt expression on his face. The railway seats (metal) are very uncomfortable. He is perched on the seat, his feet balanced on tiptoe, leaning forward so that his abdomen would have been slightly constricted. His face wears an engrossed expression, as he reads a cheap magazine reporting the lives of (mostly trashy) celebrities.

He stayed in that position for at least twenty minutes while we waited for the train.

Do celebrities really merit this sort of attention? The look of concentration is almost beautiful in its purity. It is a look that should be reserved for study of the arts and sciences, not wasted on the opinions of Britney Spears or the antics of Ronan Keating.
