James Souter (Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Leeds) seems to have a rather muddled view of history: http://blogs.lse.ac.uk/politicsandpolicy/the-uk-must-fully-recognise-its-special-obligations-towards-iraqi-and-afghan-refugees/?utm_content=buffer7a624&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
He talks about "the UK’s special obligations towards Iraqi and Afghan refugees" when in fact it is the Labour Party that is responsible for those wars.
The United Kingdom needs to come out of the 1951 Refugee Convention.
