Money-making machines offering private education to the world's elite

I read through this New Statesman article by Karan Bilimoria and at no point does he explain why we need foreign students studying here (the New Statesman announced on Twitter "The UK needs international students coming here to study"

There were bland comments about economic opportunity (for the foreigners presumably) but no practical demonstration of how this benefits ordinary people.

British universities were founded and built up by the taxes of ordinary British people and should be educating ordinary British people.

I do not see why British universities should be hi-jacked by their current academic employees to become money-making machines offering private education to the world's elite.

I am fed up with the world's elite swarming into the United Kingdom.

I would like them to leave.
