"People who are left behind"

On Daily Politics earlier today Meg Hillier (Labour and Co-operative MP for Hackney South and Shoreditch) sneeringly described UKIP supporters as "people who are left behind".

She is wrong in her perception.

UKIP as a party are not left behind but are most certainly leading the way - and other parties (Conservative and Labour) are either trying to follow their policies or (Liberal Democrats) being blasted by them into oblivian.

As a Conservative it gives me no pleasure to see my party being edged into irrelevance by UKIP.

But one can say to certain of the post-1991 leadership - you had it coming.
