Owen Jones talks about how history is "airbrushed"

This is a small quibble I know, but in this article for the Guardian Owen Jones talks about how history is "airbrushed" to make it more palatable:

And yet Mr Jones refers to the "Tolpuddle Martyrs" instead of the correct historical name of Tolpiddle (the clue is in the name of the river that runs through the village).

It is a harmless bowdlerisation that happened presumably because the trade union movement became tired of the constant sniggering the old name engenedered.

But this illustrates the very "airbrushing" Mr Jones is so quick to condemn.

One cannot be half a virgin.

One is either committed to the truth or one is not.
