UKIP have employed eastern Europeans to distribute leaflets

There seems to be muddled thinking by all those who are exultantly pointing out that UKIP have employed eastern Europeans to distribute leaflets:  http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/05/07/ukip-eastern-european-leaflet-distribution-_n_5279567.html?utm_hp_ref=tw

As it is illegal to discriminate against people on the grounds of their nationality, how could UKIP not employ eastern Europeans if they apply for advertised vacancies?

If they said "No eastern Europeans" they would be breaking the law, and the very people now complaining that they have employed foreigners would be dancing up and down complaining that they were discriminating against foreigners (and screaming their usual moronic chorus of "racist racist racist").
