Where is the fabled "split" in the Conservative Party

Michael Heseltine, Ken Clarke, now Sir Geoffrey Howe.

All the pro-EU Conservatives so far coming forward are just tired old has-beens from the far-distant past.

What possible relevance do they have to the Conservative Party of today?

Where is the fabled "split" in the Conservative Party that the left keeps harping on about?

To most of the current generation of Conservatives the trio Heseltine, Clarke and Howe represent the discredited self-important second division egoists who brought down Margaret Thatcher (treachery with a smile on its face).
